Soul Hawaii - also known as Hawaiian Soul

Meredith Wilson, Lead Singer

Meredith Wilson was born and raised in Granite Falls, North Carolina. She grew up singing in the church and studying tap, jazz, ballet, and modern dance at Ann Freeman Dance Academy from age 3 to 18. She served as her high school band’s Drum Major for 2 years after playing flute, euphonium, and even a little trombone. Meredith then attended Appalachian State University and was heavily involved with the ASU Gospel Choir, an all-female A Cappella Group, Jazz Vocal Ensemble, and the Hip Hop Dance Team.

Her first job after graduation was Lead Vocalist for the party bands on Holland America Line cruise ships. Meredith continued performing by becoming a principal Singer/Dancer for numerous revue shows at the Carowinds amusement park in Charlotte, NC. After moving to the St. Louis area, she ventured into singing with a well sought-after corporate/wedding band that toured throughout the Midwest.
In 2015, Meredith won a written song and video contest that awarded her a trip to the 2016 GRAMMYs in Los Angeles, CA. Meredith is happy to now call Hawaii home and looks forward to bringing Southern soul to the islands.
